I’m deeply saddened to hear of Seattle Fire Fighter Matt Runte’s passing. Matt was the kind of fire fighter we need in Seattle – a leader personally and professionally committed to his crew, city, and community. I am holding his family in my prayers. He will be greatly missed.

As he rose from Husky football stardom, worked in telecommunications, and served as a successful politician, he forged a trail of success that I followed.
