As Mayor, I’ve led with action — a billion for housing, safer streets, and standing up to Trump.
Continuing to make progress for you and our city.
During my first term, we’ve made real progress and put our One Seattle approach into action – advancing our shared priorities by uniting the people of our city together around common values. We’ve delivered public safety solutions, kept parks and sidewalks open and accessible while moving people into shelter and housing with services, made historic investments in affordable housing, prioritized a transportation system focused on safety, and passed nation-leading climate legislation. But there is more work to do – this is the time for proven leadership to stand up for our values and keep Seattle moving forward as a city that is welcoming, affordable, and safe.
Keeping residents safe is my highest priority. We’ve made great strides – rebuilding our police department to reduce crime, improve response times, decrease gun violence, and increase police staffing (highest application rate in a decade). Through our new health response unit trained in de-escalation, and targeting drug trafficking, we’re helping people in crisis and removing fentanyl from our streets. We’ll accelerate these strategies to bring peace of mind to every resident.
We’ll continue to take action on affordable housing and homelessness through compassionate solutions that get people indoors and build more housing faster. We’ve dedicated over $1 billion toward affordable housing, cutting red tape to accelerate new housing, doubling housing capacity over the next decades, and reducing unauthorized tent encampments by 80% with record numbers of shelter referrals, placements, and connections to services.
We’ll continue prioritizing a transportation system focused on safety, sidewalks, road infrastructure, bus and light rail; accelerate climate solutions; plant and protect trees; and build the future of Downtown and Seattle Center.
I will continue protecting Seattle– challenging Trump administration efforts to disrupt Seattle’s stance as a welcoming city for immigrants, LGBTQ, and BIPOC communities. I’ll ensure our rights and laws are respected.
I am a Seattle Public Schools and UW graduate, lifelong Seattle resident, and father deeply committed to the diversity and dynamism of our city. Let’s keep working together for a stronger, united Seattle. With your vote I’ll continue to focus on outcomes, make no excuses, and seek bold, transformative change.
